USAF CRUISE MISSILE GOES HAYWIRE AND CRASHES IN THE UTAH DESERT
"An Air Force cruise missile flew out of control Thursday morning (March 23, 2000) and slammed into the ground near the Goshute Indian Reservation in remote Tooele County."
"No one was injured in the 11:16 a.m. crash on isolated land administered by the Bureau of Land Management (an agency of the USA's Department of the Interior--J.T.) said Hill Air Force Base Tech Sgt. Timothy Trager. There was no danger to the land, he said." "'The 20-foot (6-meter) long cruise missile had been dropped from a B-52 bomber that had originally taken off from Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana. The missile was being tracked by two F-15 chase planes and an Airborne Range Instrumented Aircraft (ARIA) that keeps the missile in the plane's radar scope, before it inexplicably crashed,' said Staff Sgt. Sonja Whittington, spokewoman for the 388th Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base." "'The pilots never lost the missile visually, but why it crashed will be determined by investigators,' she said." "Whittington did not know the missile's intended target, but said the accident occurred during the third hour of a four-hour test run at the Utah Test and Training Range."
"When the missile impacted, there was a slight explosion caused by the crash but no fire. The missile did not contain any explosives." "No one was near the crash site in remote Ibapah (population 11) about 185 miles (296 kilometers) west of Salt lake City," near the Utah-Nevada state line. "'I want to emphasize that these tests are routed specifically to avoid populated areas,' Whittington said, 'We're not going to fly a cruise missile over some downtown area.'"

(Editor's Comment: The cruise missile went down just south of Ochre Mountain, a sacred site to the indigenous Nuche people. This is also the season the annual Nuche Bear Dance. Maybe the Four Thunders put the hex on that missile.)
Formation of small lights flying from South to North --first two groups of 7 followed by 3, another of 14 and last of 7. Each group took approx. 3 sec. flying at 80 to 90 degrees across the sky.
Watching from a parking lot, we observed small lights in a semi-circle which we first thought were geese. Of course, it was too dark for geese and this formation moved across the sky in about 3 seconds. We continued on to my car and another group of 7 appeared in the sky about 15 sec. later. We stopped this time wondering if it was the same group having returned but another appeared after the same 15 second interval with 3 which invalidated that premise. My friend commented that the skies were alive tonite as we turned back to the South and awaited another group. Much to our surprise, a group of 14 flew over. These were not in a perfect semi-circle formation and were more scattered. By this time we had ruled out a search light and airplanes which were flying slowly by comparison in the area. After another group of seven which flew directly overhead, the show was over. There were not sounds whatsoever, and it was smooth sailing from one end of the sky to the next. Very spectacular-- incredible!!!

5 seperate appearances of round tinkerbell lights in the sky in chevron formation in sets of 7.7.3,14,7 flew overhead at amazing speed silently my friend and I were walking in the parking lot to her car when we saw what we first thought were a flock of geese. We both said 'Wow look at those geese" then we both knew that it wasn't geese because the sky was black and these were lit up. They wandered in formation from south east to north west across the sky in an arch. We said "Those were not geese that was a UFO." We stood and looked at each other amazed and a little in shock. Then about 45 seconds to a minute later another group flew over. The first group had 7 in it and so did the second group. We both yelled there goes another group. We couldn't believe it. It took about 5 seconds for them to go from horizon to horizon. There were airplanes flying around at the time to compare with and these were deffinatly not air planes. My friend thought maybe a search light but there was no way
that these tinkerbell lights could be a search light because of their shape and brightness and they were traveling in a straight line. We thought maybe they were circling around and around but then while we were talking a group of 3 flew overhead. This group was not as organized as the others were. They looked as if they were trying to catch up and were bouncing around more than the others were. By now we were looking in the direction they were comming from waiting for the next group to come. Our mouths hanging open. Soon a group of 14 flew over in chevron pattern 7 on one side and 7 on the other side. I could tell they were not attached lights because they floated around in the formation. All groups were traveling at about the same speed. The group of 3 going the slowest. We were yelling and bouncing up and down as we turned and watched them until they were out of sight. We were both covered in goose bumps and starting to shake. Then the next group of 7 flew directly over us. That was the closest group. There was not a sound from any of them. We waited for several minutes but no more appeared. The entire sighting was about 3 to 5 minutes long.

Noticed a off grey triangle shape object moving from south to north just above horizon. Object bad faintly illuminated cornens almost as if reflecting surrounding city light. Area between comers was dark but yet a different hue than the surrounding sky. As object passed in front of stars or mountains it blocked them out.Object was traveling approximately 4-6 miles away in a line that appeared to be over the wasatch mountains.It was traveling fast but not at break neck speed. It moved in a straight line and made no Sound at all. I lostsight of the object as it passed behind a small group of trees. It did not come out the other side of the trees.
There is a small canyon that is in a line behind where we were standing and the group of trees. I figure that it must have turned up the canyon or changed direction fast enough that we would have been looking in another area than where it actually was.

I was out on my porch in West Jordan, where I had a full view of the valley, watching Commercial stuff follow the ILS for 34 right at SLC International, when I saw a translucent, glowing triangle, which seemed to be sub orbital. It was directly above an incoming commercial ...The commercial was descending through 9000 msl, I would say that the ufo was at least 40,000 or above. and was twice the size of the lower jet.
It was most likely over the top of the Wasatch range, it's heading was about 0 degrees north in a very straight path.I first picked it up over the Corner Canyon Area and followed it past Bountiful, when the SLC City lights caused it to fade. My buddy was with me and he witnessed the entire thing also.
If it was above 40 thousand plus (and I'm sure it was closer to over 100,000 or sub orbital) I'm guessing the size would literally be about several football fields long. In comparison to the dc10 that was on approach at about 9000 msl, the thing was twice it's size, but you 'knew' that it was way out there, most likely suborbital or higher.
It was pulsating with waves of very muted wave colors, you could see the wave run across the entire length of the ship, with other waves pulsing and bouncing into each other.
The edges were distinct for the distance viewed, I mean, you could SEE the shape was real, long and triangular.
Here's the kicker, my buddy DID NOT see, I saw about say 5 miles ahead of it, 5 or 6 other craft, spaced out in a semi circle in front of the larger craft. They looked like snowball comet blobs, not really any brighter then the craft or starts. But they had round blob shapes, and were steady in their light eminence.
As the whole formation got over the Middle (Latitude speaking) of Salt lake Valley, the 5 or 6 craft took off in a forward star burst formation at about 25 times the speed of the actual craft and disappeared. They did not leave con trails of luminescence trails at al, like something in or close to our atmosphere.
I got the Mufon Number from our dispatch center and called it the next day, nobody else reported seeing it...it was huge, had the pilots not been looking at the runway ahead and looked up a bit, they would have had it in view also.
I contacted my friend at SLC ATC and they hadn't any pilot reps or sightings either.
It's so funny what the mind does when you first see something it can't explain.....Both my buddy and I thought it was a flock of birds coming over our house from the southwest (Area 51 & Sw desert direction) and then turn north over the Wasatch Front. By the time it was over the Point of the Mountain, my friend said, that's not any flock of birds I've ever seen, not unless they have luminescent lighting and waves of color.
He felt it look multidimensional...I didn't have an opinion, other then it might be suborbital.
Any ways, I wrote a Mufon report and sent it in, never seen my sighting publicized anywhere, nor was there any other reports. submitted byMarc Peterson
