Haunted House?
I've had a couple strange experiences in my house in Clearfield, off of 300 North.
(which is actually a 14x72 mobile home--I'm a bachelor, what can I say) and my neighbor, who watches the house when I have to leave for military commitments, says she's convinced it's haunted.
Well, I've had some unusual experiences in my house in the past, but they have seemed to slow down now. I live alone, but my children visit during holidays and summer months. I'll give you my story.
Most of the experiences started when I kept waking up in the middle of the night, just about three am. I didn't think much of it until I realized it was the same time every morning. This went on for almost two weeks. At one time, I awoke to the feeling that someone or something jumped on the bed. The bed actually "bounced" like someone jumped on it. I thought it might be the cat, so I reached out to see if it was him, but he was already fast asleep at the foot of the bed. I dismissed it as possibly a small earthquake and started to go back to sleep, but then it felt like someone was running their hand through my hair. It wasn't a "bad" feeling, but still shook me up. I ended up staying awake for most of the morning.
Being active duty military, I sometimes have to go away for weeks or months at a time. I usually have my neighbor watch the house and the cat for me while I'm gone. Back in February/March of 2002, she was watching the house for me. She claims that she can sense spirits and sometimes can even communicate with them. I think I have a pretty open mind, but I haven't seen anything to convince me either way to her claim. She told me that she had a couple strange experiences while watching the house.
She said she was in the back bedroom cleaning the cat box, and she felt a presence behind her, and thought it was her daughter. When she turned around, there was nobody there. She said that she then got the feeling that whatever this was wanted to do harm to her. She claims that it felt like the presence of a very angry man. She said she never felt welcome again in the house after that. She also says she sensed the presence of a middle aged woman who was more like a guardian angel to me, but the male spirit tried to keep the female out. Oh yes, she also said that a small footstool I have in the bathroom was moved to the middle of the floor one time, but I haven't had anything move or be misplaced since I've lived here. Her daughter claimed that she saw a face in the front window as they were driving by one time, but I also dismissed this as it could have been a lot of things, ie. the cat, a reflection, overactive imagination. When I got back, I continued to wake up between three and four in the morning. I finally went to a couple Internet sites for answers on how to get rid of a possible haunting. I was told to simply say out loud, "Go away, you're not welcome here. Move on." I ended up doing this a few times when I would wake up at 3am, sometimes waking with that feeling I was not alone. After that, the 3am wakings stopped.
When I first moved in, I told my daughters to fix up the front bathroom any way they wanted, and that would be "their bathroom." Now, they will not even set foot in that bathroom, and will usually run past the doorway as they go by. They have also come running from my room as if someone is following them. They say it gives them an uneasy feeling. I have experienced that feeling when I was young in my older sister's room. I wouldn't step foot in her room, and it always felt like someone/something was following me down the stairs. I believe that my oldest daughter is sensitive to these things, because she has told me other things she has experienced in their house.
Things have settled down for now, although I swear I sometimes see flashes of light out the corner of my eye. I actually thought I had seen a mouse running down the hallway, even though I have a cat. I went out and bought mouse traps and they have been out for months now, and I have not found any mice. I guess I have accepted whatever might be here, but the kids haven't, and my neighbor won't watch my house anymore. Also, the cat has never really shown any strange behavior. I thought animals could sense things like this more than we could. So that's all I can think of for now. I try not to focus on it or think about it too much, and it seems as long as it's just me in the house, we've accepted each other. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. If there's something "angry" here, I'd like to get rid of it.
I also sent the pictures to Dr. Alan Meyer and told him the same thing I told you.
> I showed the pics to my neighbor and she said something about the mist picture, and how if it was the "male" spirit/entity/ghost that she felt, she didn't think it would be by the Christmas tree because "the tree is a symbol of good and happy feelings." She won't go into much detail about how she felt or what/who she thinks it might be. She basically says that it's just an entity that decided to stop here for some reason. It seems to me that she's keeping something from me. Maybe she knows what she's talking about, maybe not? I asked her, since she claims she can communicate with things like this, if she would come down and try to get rid of it, but she says she has no right to do that because it's not her house, and it will just come back. I have no experience in this, so I don't know if that's true or not, but I've never read or heard anything like that. Other than the occasional flash of light out the corner of my eye, everything's cool right now.
